What to expect:
New Book Authors will make your book available via major retailers Like Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Books-a-Million, Walmart, Powells, Indiebound, and fine retailers everywhere. We will format, edit, design your book cover, and publish your book in paperback and eBook formats (hardcover is an option). We also provide much needed consultation and feedback for authors seeking advice on their books.
Our process is collaborative. We work as a team with the author. This includes bringing the author’s ideas and concepts to fruition or offering feedback in areas where some ideas may not be in the best interest of the book. We specialize in empowering authors who want to publish their book with a great publisher while retaining all of their rights and full control of their work.

What we do:
- Format your book for print in paperback and eBook formats (hardcover is optional). Your book cover is included.
- Create your account and author dashboard where you will monitor your book sales and receive your royalties.
- Provide consultation as needed throughout the process, including branding and how to project your book to the world.
- Make your book available for sale and distribution through bookstores such as Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Books-a-Million and many other fine retailers.
- Obtain ownership of your ISBN (OPTIONAL – You have the option of using a free ISBN or some authors prefer to purchase and own their own. We’ll consult on the pros and cons and both options. For example, an author who is published by a hybrid or vanity publisher that uses that company’s ISBNs on a published book, will find it difficult to get the book onto physical bookstores shelves as some of those companies are not taken seriously by retailers.)
- Submit your book to the Library of Congress for applicable numbers that will help facilitate your book to local libraries where your book may be accepted.
- Design your marketing outline, sell sheet, adverts, QR code, and flyers for marketing purposes and presentation to book retailers and the public (included in $550)
- Set up a basic author’s web page (OPTIONAL – $175 or no fee for authors with marketing plan.)
- Design a marketing strategy (for authors enrolled in our marketing program).
- Create your book cover (authors have input on the design, and also have the option of providing their own book cover.)
- Guide you on copyrighting your book. Author retains 100% of copyright ownership. You will register with the Copyright office. (Author responsible for $65 copyright registration fee, which is paid directly to the U.S. Copyright Office).
- Children books: Authors can provide their own artwork/illustrations or we can pair the author with our illustrator who will work directly (with the author) to create illustrations for the book. There is a separate, very nominal fee per illustration paid to the illustrator that can be negotiated based on type of illustrations needed.
OUR FEE: Total (including editing and consulting is $550)
At the end of this process, for approximately $550, you will have an attractive and beautifully formatted print and eBook that customers can buy from bookstores and retailers. There are no hidden costs or fees. *Note: If you are publishing an academic textbook with hundreds of graphics, tables, etc. (i.e. a biology book, chemistry, math, history) or a book over 200,000 words, it is $750 to publish as textbooks are significantly more complex than a novel, nonfiction, or children’s book. All other fees outlined on this page or on our marketing page are 100% optional and are not included on your invoice unless specifically requested. Some authors have a huge following, media coverage, or a marketing background and may not need our marketing services so we have opted not to automatically include marketing as part of publishing to help authors save on publishing costs.

Retailers and bookstores don’t advertise your book, so it can be difficult to reach potential readers in an industry where over a million books are published annually. Our objective is to get your book in front of the public, to give your book the visibility and exposure it needs to reach potential readers. We offer marketing services whether you have published your book with New Book Authors, or an outside publisher.
Publishing a book is not enough to be successful. Our authors have two options. Some of our tech savvy authors who have an established platform, media coverage, or a large social media following may prefer to handle their own marketing. New Book Authors will provide a marketing outline, a handy guide for our tech savvy authors, and other materials to assist with your marketing. However, we also provide marketing services to authors who prefer to have us market their books for them due to lack of media coverage, social media followers, visibility, or inexperience. Sometimes our tech savvy authors prefer both options. We offer marketing services whether you have published your book with us, or an outside publisher. With a million books published annually, it is very easy for a book to disappear without many sales without if there is no marketing for the book. Authors can decide which option works best for their individual needs.

UNRELATED SERVICES:
Novel to Screenplay Adaptation New!
If you are interested in adapting your novel into a screenplay and need assistance, New Book Authors Publishing now offers this service to published and unpublished authors. This filmmaking service is offered to any author who is interested in adapting their novel to a screenplay but may not know where to start. You do not need to publish a book with New Book Authors to adapt your book into a screenplay. (Click here for details).
TURNAROUND
Turnaround time can vary, depending on the length of the book, type of editing, number of corrections, or number of clients. The average turnaround for completion is two and a half to three months, but again, this depends on whether there are illustrations or special editing needs.
